Good news from the Alabama Rivers Alliance
The Rosa Coal Mine Watchdog Committee was awarded the 2010 Watershed Group of the Year award for outstanding work in organizing to protect the Locust Fork River from critical threats by coal mining from the proposed 3,000 acre Rosa mine.
The Rosamine Watchdog Committee has shown leadership, tenacity and recruited many to your cause with a beautiful website, made signs, held public meetings, conducted scientific studies, formed a great partnership with the Friends of the Locust Fork River and have run an effective campaign!
The award was presented Sunday evening, February 28th at the local foods dinner at the Watershed Leadership Conference in Montgomery by the Alabama Rivers Alliance.
